The one thing we like to do is travel … and seeing as our wings were clipped for two years, now that things are open and we meet all travel requirements (double & quadruple vaxed) we are able to spread our wings and fly…
“The Beast” as we lovingly call our ST is by far the best means of transport for hubby & moi’. It’s big and comfy and can take the kitchen sink if we wanted. The top box carries our clothing and laptop… the side panniers carry our food and J’s tools. It’s amazing what we can take on the bike.
This trip we came to a place in South Australia called Barmera.
Barmera is a town in the Riverland region of South Australia. It is on the Sturt Highway A20, 220 kilometres north-east of Adelaide, the capital of the state of South Australia. It is primarily an agricultural and viticultural town and is located on Lake Bonney Riverland, a freshwater lake. Wikipedia
The OzSTOC team had an RTE (Ride to Eat) at Barmera Cafe and it was awesome. We have not seen each other in over 2 years and it was literally a family reunion. It’s amazing how you make friends over the years and friends with common interests even better!!!
We stayed at the motel closest to the lake so we could walk down & enjoy the beautiful water. It was a sweltering 35 degrees most of the day and took a lot of energy being out let alone donning motorcycle gear !!! But closer to the evening we did walk down to the lake and sat on the grass and just enjoyed the blue blue water 😍
Lake Bonney SE is a coastal freshwater lake located in the Limestone Coast region of South Australia in the gazetted locality of Canunda. It has surface area of 79 square kilometres. The lake is located 450 km south east of Adelaide and 13 km south west of Millicent. Wikipedia
We hit the road the next morning to head to Sea Lake …. But that will be another story.

Such a long ride, you’re so brave, but if you have to do it, the ST is the bike for the job. Looks like you had amazing (if rather hot!) weather. Pete is looking very well, I hope all the guys are fine.

Yes everyone is very well. Looking forward to seeing them all again in May… this time in Edithburgh. That ride will definitely be two days there and two days back as it’s almost 1000kms.
