Good morning ScrapHappy Friends.

I did not think I’d be able to make this months blog post. It’s been a hard few weeks and things have been frenetic to say the least.

When Kate came to visit in June we visited Torquay and we of course went to check out Ameti Textiles and bought a couple of bags of scraps. It’s been sitting on my table a fair while and I didn’t want to use it as the colours are deep & I felt it needed to be used in it’s entirety as a piece.

A friend has had a very hard time after losing her husband and has had to make a lot of drastic changes and I felt a quilt would wrap her in a hug from me every time she felt a bit down.

It’s a very simple quilt with pieces being joined with free motion quilting done in white thread to set it off …

This is the end result….

Here are the links for everyone who joins ScrapHappy from time to time (they may not post every time, but their blogs are still worth looking at). The list below is the most current one I have, so if you’d like me to update something, let me know in the Coments.

  1. Of course you thought of someone else even in the middle of your own distressing circumstances. She’s a very lucky friend. My own scraps from the Torquay expedition are waiting for me to finish quilting Anemone so I can free up my cutting table!
