My school friend came over for a conference to Loreto in Toorak our Alma Mater… we have known each other since year 1. I spent time visiting the school here and with her.
She came over for dinner on the Sunday evening and we had a chance to reminisce and as all my school friends love the things I make I had to send her home with a few things 😍

Before we left on a family holiday to Malaysia I wanted to make some small pieces I could carry as presents for the extended family (in-laws) living in KL
What better way to show my appreciation than making something for everyone there 🩵
And so these pieces came together as I went through all my boxes and bags of material and bits and pieces I have picked up from op shops !
The red doily I have had for a very long time. I found it in the scrap bin at a market a long time ago on my travels on the motorcycle with hubby… there’s always limited space to carry anything and this fitted into my jacket pocket ❤️
The green piece was a left over from fabric I used to make a bag and the gold tinsel tissue material left over from Christmas sewing 🪡💚
The 6 mug holders were again scraps from various other projects 💜
The pink placemat a left over piece of lace from another country town op shop find and the backing some fabric given to me by a friend 💖
So all in all it was a very productive use of what I had at home and it was received with great pleasure from the family ❣️

It has been a few months since I have had a chance to post a scrappy post 🥹
Life does so get in the way and between house and kids and work and the usual months just seem to slip by !!
I have a friend who absolutely loves my little & big projects and thinks I’m very clever (I keep telling her I’m not really & she needs to see all the posts of my blogging friends) but she insists, so who am I to contradict her 🤩
Anyway she turns 60 today and I have made her a gift … a thing I do every year… and I’m hoping she likes it as much as I loved making it for her 🫶
The lace tops of the placemats were doilies I picked up at an op shop… the main back of the placemats are pieces I have had in my stash for a couple of years now and have not found a use for it till now … the binding is left over jelly rolls from other projects… Scraphappiness at its best 🤗

There were 10 pieces of lace that I picked up for a $1 each so I have a couple more I can still use for creating something pretty 😍

As the border of this scarf is still in very good condition but the actual scarf is a bit worn from lots of use I have cut it off and added it as a border to my jacket 🤩

Good morning and again it’s the 15th of the next month.
This time I am actually on as I have worked out all the kinks and falls that go along with the New phone and I’m able to post on time.
Today Marks the 23rd anniversary for my sister and brother-in-law and what were away to show my love then to make them something that my sister has been wanting for a little while now.
A couple of years ago I had made them some chair backs and she has been using them constantly and has been asking me to make her a new set when I have the time.
So the whole process has been a Scrap happy process where the lace used for the top is antique and picked up at an op shop in Country Victoria almost a year ago to be used at some stage. I had thought I could use it as a topper for my table but found there were a few rips in the crochet and so I decided I would use this and cut around those spots.
The backing is again something that has been given to me by a friend who had all this surplus material lying around and did not want to throw it away. Needless to say this material is about 10 years old and still in very good condition.
It was quite fiddly to put together as the lace is a little bit hard to work with and hold in place, but I have made the chair backs for my sisters sofas. We will be going over a bit later with some cake, and I’m hoping she will be happy with these.
And so presenting….
Looking forward to another month of sewing and babysitting and baking and all things good.

I’m sorry it’s so late but with a new phone comes new issues and I could not log onto my WP account so I could not post !!!
I seem to have resolved this issue and have had a very busy month …. Like every other month 🤩
One of my nephews who lives in Sydney texted and asked if I could make a baby quilt for one of his friends as he wanted a ‘different’ gift to give them. Seeing as I only had a week I decided on a simple jelly roll quilt… it was an easy quilt finished in a few hours & then washed & ready to take with us on our journey to Sydney the following week.
Needless to say it was well received and now I’m waiting on pics of the baby on it 🤩

Again we are in the middle of the month and only 10 days to go to Christmas 🎄
This month has been (in my book at least) the best Scrappy project ever ….
We now have two Grandbabies and “Papa” said he wanted them to have an advent calendar and could we buy them one …
As ‘The daughter’ is particular about sweets and chocolates with a toddler we decided it had to be something that they could enjoy without being given something and then told you cannot eat it till after dinner … toddlers have no sense of time & so there would obviously be a bit of drama each time if there were chocolates …
I put on my thinking cap and decided I was going to make them one … as I am of the opinion hand made is heart made 🩷💙
Every bit of the “Calendar” is scrappy …
The backing is a used table cloth cut to size..
The pockets are the finished ridge of flat sheets that I have used as backing … the edges have been sitting in the drawer for a few years now.. The ribbon with their names is also scrappy as it was a binding to a gift box I received a few years ago !!
So as you can see it’s the best Scraphappy project this year and this will come out each year and more Grandbabies names will be added as time goes on 🫶

Good morning and happy to be back here for another Scrap happy post.
It’s November and we are a month away from Christmas!
So as a result my Christmas sewing has already started and since I have seven cushion covers which I am not using again this year I have decided to turn them into presents for our motorcycle club ladies who we will be meeting in a month.
They can be used as coasters or is potholders or anything they fancy. It will of course come accompanied with Christmas cake 🍰 and almond cookies. 🍪🫶
One of the older cushion covers …. Now made into pot holders or coasters 🤩
I am sure I will have a lot more to show by the next Scrap happy post.
