We are here again & oh what a month it has been π₯Ί
This month the Heart I have made from scraps is a tribute to my Dad who I lost on 19th February π’
I have another heart in process and it will eventually be a quilt I make for my mum β¦
It will have a printed picture of my dad as well so a happy reminder for my mum when she uses it π€ 67 years of togetherness π«Ά So so hard to believe Heβs not here anymore π

I made a tiny quilt for my grand baby when she was born to do βtummy timeβ onβ¦
I made another in pink & white soon afterβ¦
I decided then that each birthday she will get a quilt made by Nana.
As sheβs growing she is learning quickly so I made a quilt with letters & her name in the centre along with pictures of her year 12-23 months π«Ά
Needless to say we are having a good time playing on it (she does want to pull the letters off π Iβm glad I sewed them on even tho they could be ironed on )
Hope everyone had a wonderful season and is happy to be entering 2025. No better way to start the year then with the Scrap happy post !
I as usual have little or no time these days to sit at my machine but I do make sure that I sit and do something every couple of days or I feel a headache coming on From withdrawal symptoms and lack of sewing π
Another tissue box cover which is extremely easy to make as the Christmas one I have put away the other one this dresses up the box beautifully π
This month I present a coverletβ¦ itβs all scrappy and I call it my shabbyChic cover π«Ά
The pieces are an old quilt cover which already had the sewing on it . I used the back of the cover as a backing and didnβt not put any batting in between as I want to use it over summer when itβs not too cold and not too hot.
As always the Rag Style does make it softer and very easy to complete quickly!
I love lace and I rolled it up and onto my sewing table it went. Husband asked why I was keeping it and I just gave a look ππ How can I throw that away !!!
Well as you can see it has come into use and makes a plain cover look chic. Iβm very happy with the results and I now have something to throw over myself when watching TV π

We blinked & itβs now Octoberβ¦. The rest of the world is orange and we are in spring π
Itβs been a doozy few months as thereβs been a lot happening & not all good. But as I see it life has to balance out & we have to have the bad to appreciate the good.
Colours have always made me happy as I come from a country that has vibrant colours everywhere and however down or blue you might be feeling, just being amongst colours lifts your spirits & gives you the βummphβ to carry on.
There has not been much time to make things as Iβve been occupied with more pressing matters & I needed some quick & easy to rest my mind & heart along with some colour to make me want to sing πΆ
Well hunting through my scraps I brought out these colours and make a simple pot holder.
It literally took me half an hour to make and will be on my kitchen counter all the time to help with the warm pots & pansβ¦. And I know it will bring me heaps of joy whenever I look at it.. π
Hereβs to hopefully a lot more sewing before Christmas comes but again one day at a time is a good motto to follow π

Sorry I missed last month but having lost a close friend I wasnβt in any state of mind π
We did travel to another state to attend the memorial and I made something for my friends wife & partner of 34 years π€
I had a few bandannas left over from a rag quilt I had made for myself a couple of years ago & as my friendβs wife loves everything Indian I used these to make her a lap quilt.
She was happy we went over to condole and reminisce with her and she was very happy with her gift. π
Realised I had left one of my meds at home so a mad scramble to get onto my pharmacist to send me a script and then to find a pharmacy out here to fill it which was a bit hard seeing as all these towns are tinyβ¦. But managed to do all that before 10am so that was a bonus.
Had to try and beat the sun going down as we donβt fancy riding in the dark with trucks bearing down on us from behind and in front β¦ we did that and got to Wudinna by 5:20pm
Another 700kms today and we reach our destination and there to stay for two nights meeting all the other riders who do this run every year. A few of our ST club members will be here too.
