ScrapHappy August 2022

Good morning from beautiful Melbourne Australia. It’s the 15th today and back in India ( the country of my birth) they are celebrating 75 years of Indian Independence…. Jai Hind 🥳

Meanwhile I have been busy over the last 4 months with family here & my sewing has suffered a bit. Needless to say I have gone days without sitting at my machine.

This ScrapHappy post is a bit different and does not involve sewing. Two things were needed… a glue gun & some left over nylon rope.

An hour later I had these two sitting on my kitchen counter. Not the usual as I said but ScrapHappiness none the less 🤗

Happy 15th of the month & here’s to the next ScrapHappy Day ❤️

July Quilting Wrap 😍

A gift for a baby girl
Free motion quilting.
First time finishing a quilt with prairie points.
Another baby girl quilt going to a friend in Western Australia 🇦🇺

It’s been a couple of months since I have made quilts as it’s been manic with family and friends over from overseas & interstate. I have quilted but small items and trying out various blocks… I’m glad I’m back & there’s another 3 baby quilts to be made and looking forward to it 😍

ScrapHappy July 2022

Hello everyone ❤️ It’s been a month and I’ve not had a moment to breathe let alone stitch!!!!

It’s been preset frantic with friends and relatives (mainly relatives!) in & out. We are also Motorcycle riding enthusiasts and have been on a few rides.

All this has left a bit of a hole in my sewing & creating. This project has been on my machine since last month and as a friends birthday is coming up I thought I would make a handmade gift as she loves everything I make.

The cord was lying in my daughters sewing room & there were lots of scrappy pink jelly roll pieces I used as she loves pink. Thus a mat was born. I have seen these on YouTube and was fascinated with how easy it was. It’s the twisting of the fabric around the cord that does my RA fingers in but one month later it’s done !!!!

Hopefully the coming month will see me at my machine a bit more 😘

HAPPY SCRAPHAPPY EVERYONE ❤️

ScrapHappy June 2022

I was chatting with Kate this afternoon and told her I’ve had no time today to post …. Yet …

She did say that there’s no urgency to post each month but I do feel like I’ve missed something important if I don’t.

So here’s what I have made at the end of last month. I had pieces of fabric which were just a perfect size for hexies.

I ended up making hearts and still have no idea what it’s going to end up being at this stage, but I’m just happy to see them made and sitting on my table …. I know inspiration will hit at some stage but till then my ‘Heart’ will be there ♥️

Three “full” hearts
One “heart” outline.

Happy ScrapHappiness all & will definitely see you next month 🥰

And they are here 😘

Two and a half years later and hundreds of video calls Kate & John are here with me.

Happy does not begin to describe how I feel. There are some people you meet along your journey through life and when you cross paths you just “click”…. Well that’s the way it is with us.

Blessed & grateful to call them my friends ❤️

🙏 WELCOME 🤗

A gift for my birthday 🥳 HANDMADE of course!
