LIFE IS A JOURNEY… ENJOY THE RIDE π
Melbourne Benalla, Wangaratta,Albury Wodonga, Holbrook, Gundagai, Jugiong, Yass & then SUTTON … here for the next 4 nights for the Royal Enfield club AGM
Sutton, meaning ‘South Settlement’ in Saxon, is a small village in the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales, Australia in Yass Valley Shire. It is situated on the west bank of the Yass River, about 17 kilometres south of Gundaroo, near the Federal Highway, not far from Canberra. Wikipedia

We love riding but have never done so in the dark. As we were meant to cover 713kms in a day we left the house at 5am which meant getting up at 4am & we did leave at 5.11am … it was dark but the roads were clear except for some morning traffic.

The most amazing part of this journey has been the sunrise. Now I have seen many sunrises & sunsets but never ever have I ridden into a sunrise or witnessed one while riding a motorcycle. It was spectacular to say the least. The feeling of peace and tranquillity cannot be expressed in words …
Itβs a feeling of utter freedom and abandonment coupled with a sense of peace π Gives life a whole new meaning β€οΈ

10 hours later we arrive at our destination… longest day ride for me and loved every minute of it !!! A fair bit of exhaustion but exhilaration as well πππ
Love the photo of the tunnel lights.
Ten hours is a long time – do you get saddle sore?

I do but we stop every hour to stretch… and I always have coffee and sandwiches in the tank bag when we travel so thereβs sustenance as well π
But yes 10 hours is a long day for me

Nothing to beat a fresh morning, calm light, an empty road and the knowledge that you don’t have to work, just enjoy the view. Take it easy the next couple of days, 700+kms is nothing to sneeze at. Fingers crossed the Botanic Garden is open for you as hoped.

Fingers crossed. I’m on Husband’s orders to stay in bed today, the ankle is screaming as a result over over-use and being accidentally kicked yesterday… π¦

You’re a legend… 713 km in the car is long enough to sit but on a bike… it looks marvellous, and the sunrise, glorious.
